GREEN CHAMPIONS
Many Winroc branches have a Green Champion to support green-minded contractors, developers and do-it-yourselfers with information and expertise on sustainable construction. Today, there are more environmentally friendly wall and ceiling products available than ever before. Winroc's Green Champions are here to answer your questions about everything from the amount of recycled content in a particular product to how you can go about collecting LEED certification letters from our suppliers. We'll also connect you with LEED-certified building experts when your project requires it.
Winroc partners with its suppliers to provide the latest green building technologies. Winroc's suppliers offer LEED-certified and other green building materials. They frequently visit our branches to train Winroc's Green Champions and other staff on the latest green building best practices and LEED certification standards. Green Champions are your source of practical green solutions.
GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL
Winroc is actively involved with the local chapters of the World Green Building Council across Canada and in the U.S. There are Green Building Council chapters in virtually every major metropolitan centre throughout North America. Green Building councils are made up of groups of construction industry professionals who hold conventions, workshops and training programs throughout the year. Winroc participates to learn about the latest green building practices, including recycling programs and LEED compliance.
